The Ten Commandments was created by an animator called Phil Mulloy. Mulloy was born and raised in Wallasey, Merseyside and studied both painting and film making. He then worked as a screenwriter and director of live-action films until the late 1980's before becoming an animator. His animations have been described as "satirical grotesque" and often portray the dark side of human nature. The style of the animations that he has created are very distinct as he uses "brush and ink on white paper".

Reasons as to Why I Have Chosen this Animation-
- I love the 2D drawing style of the animation as it is unique and striking to the viewer.
- The way that he tells the story is interesting and catches the views eye due to the uncommon nature of the theme and style used.
- The contrast between the black ink and the white paper is clear and effective.
- The "brush and ink on white paper" reminds me of one of my favourite animators - William Kentridge, who I love for the expressive, political charcoal animations he creates.
- His drawing technique shows others that not everything has to be drawn in detail for you to have a clear idea of the character and the narrative.
